University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) SUG Senate President has been Removed from Office Over allegedly embezzling over N3.2m.
This was made known in a letter signed by the Student’s Government acting Senate President.
The letter partly reads;
The Senate President has been Charged with the following alligations which includes:
- Misappropriation of public funds. Which amounts to damaging the Image of the Union, and that of the prestigious University Community.Contrary to Section 10(4) of the Constitution of the SUG 2016.
- Abuse of Constitutional powers by illegally Removing a Senator from the Senate and reviewing the judgment of the Judiciary Contrary to Section 10(1) of the SUG Constitution 2014.
- Total Disregard for institutions of Government of the Students Union Government as He calls senators Comedians. Contrary to Section 10(1) of the SUG constitution 2016.
- Disobedience and Total Disregard to the provisions of the SUG constitution 2016, Contrary to the This Senate Considers the Above Activities as Illegal, inappropriate and Amounts to the Complete Meaning of Gross Misconduct as provided under Section 18C (4) of the SUG Constitution 2016.
The Senate president Dist. Sen. Nnamani Ifeanyi Stands Removed as the Senate president of the Students Union Government, University of Nigeria on grounds of Gross Misconduct Under Section 18C(3) of SUG Constitution 2016.
That Dist.Senator Neamani Ifeanyi of Faculty of Law shall with immediate Effect Vacate office and Refund the Sum of N3,238,500 back to the Student Union Government.
It is on this Notice, that Dist. Sen. Nnamani Ifeanyi Shall No longer Parade Himself as the Senate president of The Students Union Government University of Nigeria henceforth.
