UNIZIK has Shuts Down University in a Bid to Curtail Spread of Coronavirus.
In an effort to curtail the spread of Covid-19 and obedience to the directive of National University Commission (NUC), the management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Akwa (UNIZIK) has ordered the closure of the University.
This was disclosed in an internal memorandum directed to the University Community. The memo fully reads:

RE: MANAGEMENT OF THE CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) PANDEMIC
In view of the Covid-19 pandemic the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, has informed that as part of measures to contain and prevent the spread of the Corona Thus throughout the country, approval has been granted for the closure of all schools for a period of one (I) month. commencing from Monday, 23rd March, 2020.
Consequently, the University shall be closed for one (1) month as from 23rd March, 2020.
