In an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus (covid-19) in the country, the management of Federal Polytechnic Nekede has instructed all students of the institution to vacate the school premises.

This was disclosed in a memo directed to the Polytechnic community and fully reads:


Following the Federal Ministry of Education’s directive on Circular No. FME/PSE/11E/1011/C.1/Vol. 1/137 dated Ir March, 2020, that as part of the measures to contain and prevent the spread of Corona Virus (COVID -19), all Schools in the country should be closed down for one (1) month from Monday, 23rd March, 2020.

In view of the above, all Deans, Directors and Academic Heads of Department are hereby directed to direct their staff to stop all lectures and every other academic activity on campus with effect from Monday, 23rd March, 2020.

All Students both Regular and Part-Time are hereby directed to vacate the campus immediately, including those residing in the hostels and outside the campus latest 2pm on Sunday, 22rd March, 2020.

Any student found on campus by 4pm on Sunday, 22n0 March, 2020 should have him/herself to blame.

By this memo, the Dean, Division of Student Affairs and Security Coordinator are to ensure strict compliance of this directive by the students.

Meanwhile staff should continue to report to their duty posts daily, and should maintain high level of personal hygiene.
