UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR EDUCATION AND MATHEMATICS

Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Education and Mathematics;

• English Language(*), Mathematics and any two (2) of the following Science subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

• (i) EDALV requires Mathematics and two (2) other subjects.
• (ii) LAPAI accepts Geography/Physics as one (1) of the UTME subjects and one (1) Science/Social Sciences subjects.
• (iii) EDASAB and BENIN require Physics and any other Science/Social Sciences subjects as the other two (2) subjects.
• (iv) IMSU requires Physics and any one (1) of Chemistry, Economics, and Geography as the UTME subjects.
• (v) CRUTECH requires Physics and either Biology or Chemistry.
• (vi) TASUED does not accept Agricultural Science as a Science subject.
• (vii) LAGOS requires English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any one of Chemistry, Biology, Computer Studies, Data Processing.
• (viii) IAUED requires English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Biology.
• (ix) MAKURDI requires Mathematics, Biology and Physics.
• (x) MAUTY requires Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agric. Science.
• (xi) AAUA requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
• (xii) FED-DUTSINMA Same as in Bsc Mathematics.
• (xiii) DELSU accepts Mathematics plus any other Science/Social Science subjects.
• (xiv) MAIDUGURI requires Mathematics and any two (2) Science Subjects.
• (xv) UMYUK requires Mathematics and any other two (2) Science subjects.
• (xvi) ILORIN requires Mathematics, /Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics or Geography.
• (xvii) ABU requires Use of English, Mathematics and any other 2 science subjects.
• (xviii) PHC requires Mathematics and any other two (2) subjects from Biology, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
• (xix) FED-KASHERE requires Mathematics and any two from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
• (xx) YABA-DEG requires English Language, Mathematics and any two (2)subjects from: Biology/Agricultural , Physics, Chemistry and Health Science.

O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR EDUCATION AND MATHEMATICS

Below is the UTME Requirement for Education and Mathematics;

• Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics plus one (1) other Science subject.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

• (i) EUI accepts Economics as the other Science subject.
• (ii) IMSU accepts a D7 in English Language for candidates with distinction in subjects relevant to the programme.
• (iii) ILORIN, ABUJA and OOU accept TC II merit/credit in relevant subjects.
• (iv) LASU and IMSU require ‘O’ Level credit passes in Physics and any other Science subject.
• (v) LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and any two of Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Computer Studies/Data Processing.
• (vi) BENIN requires two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes in other Social Science subjects.
• (vii) JOS does not accept TC II in Arithmetic as a subject for ‘O’ Level mathematics.
• (viii) RSU require two (2) other Science subjects.
• (ix) UYO – In addition to five (5) credit passes in SSCE or its equivalent candidates must record a credit pass in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
• (x) BOWEN accepts either Biology or Agricultural Science as Science subject.
• (xi) TASUED does not accept Agricultural Science as Science subject
• (xiv) CRUTECH requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Physics and either Chemistry or Biology.
• (xv) UNIOSUN and AAUA also require ‘O’ Level credit pass in Physics.
• (xvi) UMYUK requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics Physics and any other two (2) Science subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
• (xvii) LASU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus three (3) of Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Physics, and Economics
• (xviii) MAUTY requires Five (5) O’level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and Any three from Physics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Biology/Agric., Basic Electricity/Electronics, Civic Education, Computer Studies & IT/Data Processing.
• (xix) TASUED requires five(5) ‘O’ Level credits at one (1)sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, and two (2) subjects from Biology, Physics, Statistics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Economics and Geography/Physics
• (xx) CALABAR requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two (2) of Chemistry, Biology and Agricultural Science
• (xxi) BAYERO requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English language, Mathematics plus three (3) other Science subject.
• (xxii) OAU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and any other two (2) subjects.
• (xxiii) IAUED requires a minimum of five (5) ordinary level passes at not more than two sittings at the O’level GCE/WAEC/ SSCE?NECO to include English, Mathematics and any other three subjects selected from Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Studies and Agricultural Science.
• (xxiv) GOUU requires three (3) other Science subjects. (xxv) PAAU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and three (3) other Sciences subjects from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, and Economics.
• (xxvi) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• (xxvii) FED-DUTSINMA requires Same as in Bsc Mathematics.
• (xxviii) MINNA requires English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any other from Biology/Agricultural Science or Geography.
• (xxix) LCITY accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two (2) Science subjects.
• (xxvii) DELSU requires SSC ‘O’ Level credit in five (5) subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language and one of Chemistry or Physics.
• (xxviii) EBSU requires five (5) SSC credit passes to include Mathematics, English Language and three (3) other science subjects.
• (xxix) ILORIN accepts Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology Physics, and any other science subject.
• (xxx) ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credit which must include English Language and Mathematics.
• (xxxi) PHC requires Five (5) O Level credits passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and any other two (2) subjects from Biology, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics.
• (xxxii) FED-KASHERE requires Five SSCE credit passes in English and Mathematics plus three of Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Data Processing Biology/Agricultural Science.
• (xxxiii) YABA-DEG requires Five (5) O’Level credits in English Language, Mathematics and any other three (3) Science Subjects.
• (xxxiv) SOSU requires Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and any other three relevant Science subjects at not more than two sittings.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR EDUCATION AND MATHEMATICS

Below is the DIRECT ENTRY (DE) Requirement for Education and Mathematics;

• Two (2)’A’ Level passes/NCE in Mathematics and one (1) Science subject..

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

• (i) BOWEN, MINNA and RSU accept NCE/ND//HND, not below lower credit in related studies in addition to four (4) relevant UTME subjects.
• (ii) RSU, BSU, MAUTY, OOU and JOS accept NCE in relevant subjects not below merit.
• (iii) LASU accepts NCE merit in Mathematics, and one (1) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography/Physics and Economics.
• (iv) LAGOS accepts: NCE with credit/merit in Mathematics and any Science subject. Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
• (v) IMSU accepts NCE merit in Education and the two (2) subject areas into 300 level and below merit into 200 level.
• (vi) OAU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE passes in Mathematics and Physics and Chemistry.
• (vii) ADSU – same as in Education/Biology
• (viii) EKSU accepts a pass in General English at NCE as equivalent to ‘O’ Level English Language.
• (xii) ABU accepts NCE with a minimum of ‘C’ grade in Education and Mathematics. IJMB with a minimum of ‘D’ grade in Mathematics and minimum of ‘E’ grade in the two other subjects. ND with a minimum of Merit Pass in Mathematics. ABU Higher Diploma with a minimum of Merit Pass in Mathematics Education.
• (xiii) BENIN requires NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) Science subject plus three (3) or two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language at one (1) sitting. (xii) BAUCHI accepts NCE pass with five (5)-years teaching experience.
• (xiii) UMYUK accepts candidates with a minimum of 9 points in IJMB/HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level/NCE in Mathematics and any other relevant subject. Candidates with a minimum of lower credit pass in Diploma in Mathematics Education from recognized institutions may also be admitted.
• (xv) CALABAR accepts NCE credit or merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science subject.
• (xvi) BIU requires in addition to the ‘O’ Level requirements specified, two (2)’A’ Level passes in relevant subjects or three (3) NCE merit or ND in relevant programmes.
• (xvii) UNIOSUN accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes including Mathematics and any Science Subject or NCE merit in Mathematics, and one (1) other approved Science or Social Science subject.
• (xviii) IAUED accepts at least two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Science subjects to include Mathematics, Physics and or Chemistry or at least (2) NCE credit passes in Mathematics and Physics or Mathematics and another Science subject or Economics
• (xix) ABSU accepts NCE merit or ND/HND credit in Mathematics and one (1) other science subject.
• (xx) TASUED accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level subjects including Mathematics and any Science subject. Or NCE merit in Mathematics, and one (1) other approved Science or Social Science subject. ND/HND upper credit in Mathematics/Statistics, Statistics, Mechanical, Computer and Electrical Engineering.
• (xxi) SOSU accepts Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) or Diploma in Science Education with a minimum of merit. .
• (xxiii) FED-DUTSINMA Same as in Bsc Physics
• (xxiv) EBSU accepts: c) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer, Mathematics or Integrated Science. d) HND and NCE/OND with minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively.
• (xxv) DELSU requires; a) At least merit passes and above in Mathematics and Education or any other subjects at NCE or GCE ‘A’ Level. b) Merit in DELSU Diploma in Mathematics.
• (xxvi) UYO requires; a) NCE in relevant subject(s) with an overall merit pass or above, for a three-year degree programme. b) Advanced level GCE or JUPEB in two (2) relevant subjects. c) National Diploma in Educational Technology (DET) (minimum of lower credit level) in any area related to Mathematics Education.
• (xxvii) MAUTY accepts IJMB/Two ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and Science subject. NCE/ OND /HND with credit in the major/minimum of lower rcedit in Mathematics or any other relevant field.
• (xxviii) PHC requires Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or JUPEB or IJMB passes in the relevant subjects including UTME entry requirements. NCE with Credit passes in the relevant subjects including UTME entry requirements.
• (xxix) YABA-DEG accepts Two (2) A Level passes/NCE in Mathematics and one (1) Science subject.
• (xxx) FED-KASHERE accepts Two A’ Level credit passes in Mathematics and either Physics and/or Chemistry, NCE/ND with credit passes in Mathematics and any other Science subject.
• (xxxi) ILORIN accepts; a) At least two (2) A’ Level Credit pass in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and any other science related subjects (i.e. Integrated science and Computer science). (Minimum of 6 points in IJMB or JUPEP is also acceptable). b) NCE (Distinction/ Merit passes) in Education, Mathematics, and Physics or Chemistry , Integrated science, or Computer Science: Plus five “O” Level credit passes ( English Language, Mathematics and any other three relevant science subjects).
