Gombe State University (GSU) Closes School in effort to contain the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Country.
The authorities of Gombe State University (GSU) has ordered all students of the University to vactate the school premises from 23rd March 2020.
This is in obedience to the National Universities Commission (NUC) directive to close down the school to contain the covid-19.
This notice was issued to students of GSU through an internal memorandum and it fully reads:
NOTICE OF CLOSURE OF THE UNIVERSITY:
Further to the Circular from the National Universities Commission (NUC) Ref. No. NUC/ES/138/VOL. 63/91, dated 20th March, 2020, directing all Universities to close for one (1) month as part of measures to contain and prevent the spread of the Corona Virus (COVID-19); the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aliyu Usman El-Nafaty, has on behalf of Senate, directed the closure of the University for Students for a period of one (1) month with effect from Monday. 23rd March, 2020.
Accordingly, all Students are hereby advised to vacate the University Campus from Monday, 23rd March, 2020. Academic activities are expected to resume on Thursday, 23rd April, 2020.
